“Virtually every top Democrat also now supports late-term abortion, ripping babies straight from the mother’s womb, right up until the moment of birth” Donald Trump
It’s fashionable to dismiss Donald Trump as a pompous windbag. But what other United States President chooses to speak to the Right to Life Movement from the Rose Garden? Obviously, God isn’t a Republican nor a Democrat.
We pray for leaders like Moses who hear and obey the voice of God (cf. Exodus 3:13-20).
We need leaders who speak the mind of God and who are fearless. But even in a time of war, God asks us to “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11:28). The Apostle faced his share of wickedness in high places. And yet, Paul recommended a change of weapons (cf. II Corinthians 10:4; Ephesians 6) always remembering to “speak the truth in love.”
With the exception of a few congressman and senators, everyone claims some type of Christian or Jewish faith. Why is there such a big gap in areas of morality? My guess is its bigger than policies.
Why is there such a big gap in areas of morality?
Pope Francis says this about the need for a personal relationship:
- Faith is born of an encounter with the living God who calls us and reveals his love, a love which precedes us and upon which we can lean for security and for building our lives.
- For those early Christians, faith, as an encounter with the living God revealed in Christ, was indeed a “mother”, for it had brought them to the light and given birth within them to divine life, a new experience and a luminous vision of existence for which they were prepared to bear public witness to the end.
- Faith, tied as it is to conversion, is the opposite of idolatry; it breaks with idols to turn to the living God in a personal encounter.
- Faith is God’s free gift, which calls for humility and the courage to trust and to entrust; it enables us to see the luminous path leading to the encounter of God and humanity: the history of salvation.
If you claim a relationship with God but promote policies outside of God’s covenant, you may be entertaining a demon.
Do you have a vital relationship with the living God?
Today’s Psalm reminds us, The Lord remembers his covenant for ever.” God’s ways never change. So. if you claim a relationship with god but promote policies outside of God’s covenant, you may be entertaining a demon.
Jesus promised believers an open invitation to a devine lunch (Rev. 3:20; John 6). We have another open invitation on the table. The Apostle Paul predicts a time when lunch with demons will be a national pastime (I Timothy 4:1).
Why such a disparity? It’s because some congressman are sitting at the wrong table. It’s time to repent and choose what side we are on (Exodus 32:26).
