What Is Your Life?

We measure our lives by things.   It could be a job, a house, a spouse, children, knowing the right people, going to the ‘right’ church, or doing acts of service.  James 4 says, we talk and plan for tomorrow or next year but we have no idea what next week or year will be like.  Our lives are like a puff of smoke that appears for a moment and then disappears.

Jesus said that we should measure our lives by Him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except through Him.”  True life can only come through Jesus Christ.  We are boasting and arrogant when we plan our lives without God.  Today we must humble ourselves before Almighty God.  Our plans must begin with Him and conclude with Him.  Whatever happens in the middle is His gift to us.
