From Malachi 3, Psalm 21, Hebrews 2 and Luke 2
Who is the king of glory? It is the Lord.
Open up the gates to let the king of glory in
The Lord is strong and mighty. He is mighty in battle.
The Lord of hosts is the king of glory.
The Lord will come suddenly. He is the messenger of the covenant.
He is like a refiner’s fire and fuller’s lye. He refines and purifies the sons of Levi.
He refines and makes it pure gold and silver an offered sacrifice to God.
Jesus shared flesh and blood with us so that he might conquer death and the one who holds the power of death, Satan.
He did not come to help the angels but to help us. His suffering and death paid for the sins of the whole world.
Simeon saw the Savior. He knew what to look for so that when Mary and Joseph came to the Temple with the baby Jesus he didn’t wonder if that was the one he was waiting for-he knew.
Would we recognize the King of Glory if He walked into our world today? Probably not, but He is walking with us in our lives every day. Did you see the Lord, strong and mighty helping you today?
