Behold The Lamb
John the Baptist sees Jesus coming towards him and he says “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” He clarifies to everyone that is there that this is the one who he has been speaking about.
Like John the Baptist who recognized Jesus, we have the love of the Father bestowed on us and because of that we can recognize Jesus in others. We can see his righteousness in someone’s life. It is not something we boast about as God’s children because we don’t know everything, but our spiritual eyes can see Him. Our hope is that on that day when we see Him face to face, our hope will then be fulfilled. We want to be like Him so we don’t want sin in our lives. We don’t want to live lawless lives. Our motivation is pure, we want our lives changed by that love of the Father in us with so much power we want to give it to others.
As we reflect on all of God’s goodness to us, we must remember to behold the Lamb of God who takes away our sins and see his righteousness.
