“I am the Lord your God who grasps your right hand.” (Isaiah 41) God has our hand in his. God says, “Fear not I will help you.” The God of Heaven, our heavenly Father, holds our hand and tells us not to be afraid. He is our Redeemer and our Savior.
When God works on our lives, He wants the glory. It should never be about us and our abilities because we are helpless and hopeless. When we reach the point of total helplessness the image God uses is that we are totally parched. God says, “I, the Lord, will answer them. I will open rivers into the barrenness. I will turn the desert into marshlands and will plant vegetation where nothing grew before. It will be like a beautiful valley. SO THAT all may see and know, observe and understand that the hand of the Lord has done this.”
When we realize that we are nothing but for the grace of God, we can stand knowing that any goodness we have comes for the Lord. He has turned our ugliness into beauty not as the world judges outward beauty but as beauty that when others see us, they see HIM. Thanks be to God!
