True Life is from the Lord

“God’s true ‘Parable, is Jesus himself, his Person who, in the sign of humanity, hides and at the same time reveals his divinity. In this manner God does not force us to believe in him but attracts us to him with the truth and goodness of his incarnate Son: love, in fact, always respects freedom.”  Pope Benedict

He speaks openly to the apostles and to those who have said a resounding yes to His will.

To me and rest of us, He speaks in parables.    Even though I have spent a lifetime pouring over scriptures, Jesus says to me, “Did you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes?”

God’s call for people like me is to “take care of this vine” and when you do that you will ” have no anxiety.”  Living connected to the vine is the key to everything.

I am not an apostle or a saint but I can be connected to the vine (John 15).

True life is from the Lord.  St. Ignatius says it well:

Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. Thou hast given all to me. To Thee, O lord, I return it. All is Thine, dispose of it wholly according to Thy will. Give me Thy love and thy grace, for this is sufficient for me.
