Childlike Faith

The disciples ask Jesus “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Why would they ask that question of Jesus? My train of thought goes to, if we know God lives in heaven, and God is GOD, who would be greater than God? Jesus does not condemn them for asking the question he just begins to teach them about humility and servanthood through the example of children.

Most children love to play with others. They do not see people of color and they are not racists. They are not filled with hate. They will try to be helpful and they will look out for each other. Most of that is lost by the time we reach adulthood but Jesus tells us to be like children. Trust God like children do. Be humble like children. The treatment of children reflects how we view God. Despising a child puts your own life in spiritual jeopardy
