The Lord takes delight in his people is a sentence that we need to absorb into our souls. It is hard to imagine that God delights in us. We put a smile on his face. He wants to be involved in our lives. He wants to know our deepest thoughts and desires that we don’t share with anyone else. The things that concern us concern Him.
Psalm 149 encourages us to learn how we can receive His delight.
1. Sing to the Lord. We may not have the best singing voices but He says to sing to Him.
2. Learn to be glad in how God made us each so uniquely individual.
3. Praise his name with dance. I am not “dance coordinated” but I can tap my feet and maybe sway to the music. It is my place to start.
4. Those who play musical instruments praise Him.
Conclusion: “For the Lord loves his people and He adorns the lowly with victory…Let the high praises of God be in our throats. This is the glory of all his faithful.”
